The pictures are somewhat blurry, because I turned the flash off, so as not to reflect my bedroom window.

Day 15: Torrential Downpour
The rain did come, and in great amounts. It woke me up at six this morning. I even heard a few dings on the roof, so there might have been a little bit of hail before I finally decided to crawl out of bed to take a picture or two. It was cold by my SoCal standards, so I wouldn't be surpised if it was hail. Tonight the snow levels are suppose to drop to 3,500 ft!
Day 14: Chance of Light Sprinkles ~Saturday, November 20, 2010~
As predicted, the rain came, but in sprinkles. Caught some sprinkles on my windshield. They look like Christmas lights in the trees.
This picture was overexposed because the sun was coming out. Beautiful blue.

Day 13: Gloom
Today was overcast with some light sprinkles in the evening. It was cold so the birds huddled together in groups. Even the flowers seemed gloomy. But I am excited, for rain is on the way.

Day 12: Swiftly
After studying at MESA, I came out just in time to see the sun as it hid behind the clouds drifting swiftly overhead. The cloud in the left hand corner reminds me of a humming bird. I chose wide screen to capture the change in weather.
Day 11: E RESQ ~Wednesday, November 17, 2010~
Saw this Suburban on my way home from school today. At first I thought it was just owned by a firefighter, who performs emergency rescues, but then I saw the daylighters or flood lights on the front top. Wondered if they accepted the same calls as the fire department for emergency rescues...how often and where. I had my camera on wide screen setting because of a prior picture taken today of the school chalk board.

This picture is blurry, because I had little time to take it. I stopped at the red left-hand turning signal and swung my camera around taking the picture without looking. The decal on the front windshield says 'BIGOTIRES'

Day 10: Fog
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

Day 9: Eyewear Launch
For the past several weeks I have been writing application essays to optometry schools. I decided to take a break and have some fun with my old eyeglasses and sunglasses. I plan to donate most of them. I used my blue blanket and sliding mirror closet door as background. I turned off my ceiling lights and used two desk lamps. I also used a glass picture frame to add a softer light from a different angle.

Day 8: Dawn
When night is almost done,
And sunrise grows so near
That we can touch the spaces,
It 's time to smooth the hair
And sunrise grows so near
That we can touch the spaces,
It 's time to smooth the hair
And get the dimples ready,
And wonder we could care
For that old faded midnight
That frightened but an hour.
And wonder we could care
For that old faded midnight
That frightened but an hour.

Day 7: Thoughtfulness
I love eating my mom's cookies. She baked some oatmeal raisin early this morning for a ladies' luncheon party leaving a wonderful, warm aroma in the kitchen. My mom is so thoughtful that she also left behind a couple of cookies for dad and I. Dad already ate his, so this one is mine.

Day 6: Playing Impromptu
I love listening to my dad play the piano. It brings so much richness to our family. Usually he plays beautiful church hymns, but tonight he said that he just used some chords and played impromptu. I captured the motion of his hands with a long shutter.
Day 5: Double Delight ~Thursday, November 11, 2010~
My family planted these Double Delight roses in our front yard a year ago. I had never seen so many blooms at once on these particular bushes, so I was 'doubly delighted'. The vibrant reddish pink colors contrasted against the white also reminded me of the many who have and who are still serving our country (Veteran's Day).
Day 4: A New Day ~Wednesday, November 10, 2010~
Although I am not generally a morning person, I still enjoy the fresh, energizing crispness of the early day. I was waiting for the signal light to change on my way to class. The oncoming traffic was actually moving, but I used a fast shutter speed and ISO 400.
Day 2: Monday Morning ~Monday, November 8, 2010~
I was at a brisk pace towards my 7:45AM Monday class when I came across a waterfall created by a water drain above the El Camino College Bookstore near the volley ball courts. From this angle the water droplets appear like snow due to their refractive properties.
Later in physics class I learned about finding the center of mass for an object.
Day 1: Autumn ~Sunday, November 7, 2010~
As I was walking with my family after church to our car, I noticed some colorful, autumn leaves in the parking lot. I was thrilled that fall had finally arrived after an unusually cold summer and a sizzling start to fall. My mom saw me stooping down to take a picture with my cell phone camera and gave me the great idea of starting a blog. Last spring I took a photography class, so this project will motivate me to improve my photography skills and sharpen my eyes to detail. This is a 365 day project, so I will post at least one picture that I take for each day of the year. Currently I am taking classes at El Camino College, applying to optometry schools and starting a pre-optometry club at El Camino College, so I will try my best to keep up with this project. I would appreciate any suggestions for photography subjects or constructive criticism on my photography.
